Our team was fortunate to celebrate Hayley's 18th birthday while in Kenya. I am so proud of her for willing to be on the mission field and allowing the Lord to use her during such an important time of her life. As a team we took the day off and had American food day. (which meant waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much sugar) We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast, spaghetti for lunch and chicken fingers and fries for her birthday dinner.  Cake of course was included!!! We also splurged on 3 soda's for us to share. (That's POP to you in the midwest) The kids were crazy after not having that much sugar in such a long time. I vowed not to give them sugar again. Kyle looked at me and lauged. I made cinnamon rolls again two days ago and Kyle made brownies… 🙂 What can we say? We love them…

Thanks so much for all the support you have given me! I thought  I was appreciative before but now I cannot express how much your support means not only to me but to all the people here I have minister to! Yesterday we went to the hospital and we got to pray not only with sick kids but over new moms and there 1,2,3 day old babies! It was incredible. We also got to go into the area where the sick babies are and pray over them. It was heart breaking to see but God put us there for a reason. Please pray for all those babies but especially Angle. We prayed with her mom before we met her and she told us that Angle has Lung problems and the nurse told us she probably won't make it. It was so hard to watch little Angle struggle to get air but I prayed over her several times and I&#39…

Hello Everyone. Team Kenya is flourishing. We have spent the last week, visiting schools, going to another slum, hospital visits to pray for the sick and evangelism, and a surprise visit to the Bush. We had to wait for a giraffe to cross our path and we stopped and fed baboons bananna's from our car… Enjoy the photo's. Be ready for the storis. Sorry I can't post more right now. It took 2 hours for these to load! Hugs to each of you from your rock star children and friends. Pray that we make the most of our time remaining. I will get back to you parents on transitioning your kids back at home… God has done so much. they will not be the same for sure! Happy Birthday Hayley! in the slums of Kenya

Hello everyone! Team Kenya is doing well. Here is a little something from my journal… It was written last week but I hope you enjoy… I walked through a Kenyan slum today. When I woke this morning it wasn’t part of my plan.   When the kids found out we were going to Kenya, several of them asked if we could visit “the slums.”  Pastor Joseph thought I should go see it before the children did to determine if they would actually be able to handle it. After arriving, I wondered if I would be able to handle it.   The immediate sights of the slums are similar to things I have seen in other countries. You know the old saying, “don’t judge a book by it’s cover?” This is certainly worth thinking about when visiting …

A Changing World Friends and Family, Hey y’all! How is everyone at home? I’m great! Things are fabulous here! My family here is so amazing and, despite the fact that I’m sure many of you don’t want to hear this, I really don’t want to come home! Kenya is so  amazing! The food here is so delicious and so healthy, it makes me so happy! God is so real here, and despite the fact that we aren’t living the way we were expecting, it’s much nicer, we are definitely experiencing God move and swiftly. We are all changing so fast and we are breaking for God and his will every day. We are living with a pastor in Nairobi, Pastor Joseph, and his family. He and his wife have one daughter, Patience, who is four years old and who we have spoiled to death. …

God has been doing amazing things in Kenya. I LOVE the kids here! Especially in the slums. They are awesome at soccer here. But I am awesomer! (It helps that I am 3 times bigger than them) God has seriously broken me down and is just starting to build me back up and I could not imagine a better place for him to do that in than Nairobi. Love you guys see you in a few weeks. God bless,                            Nick

Sorry for the delay in updates! we have been busy. God is very good to team Kenya. We have fantastic ministy partners in Deliverance Church Southlands and they are gracious hosts as well. The team has spent the last few days ministering to disabled adults, VBS in a slum, Sports Evangelism and speaking to kids in Public Schools. We are able to present a Bible story, sing songs and speak about our general lives as Americans. The great thing is the church is able to follow up with the kids in the schools and the church is nearby. It is a delight to be able to share the word of God in a public school setting. The team is thriving! Kyle and I are so proud of them. They are pressing through the hard things that the Lord is showing them and they are pouring their hearts out to the Kenyan pe…
